I have two heads (it is wrong
to have two heads) –
it is a terrible secret –
I tell nobody –
(nobody notices – how can I have
two heads and go
unnoticed? – I must have
the normal quantity of heads –
I check –
I have two heads)
and my boss speaks sympathetically
about someone with two heads
(I nod both my heads at once
in understanding)
and my colleague, when recruiting, says she thinks
the woman with two heads will find it hard
to fly on a trapeze,
what do I think? –
and I, as I swoop past her, spinning through the air,
say Yes.
Yes.
