Fantastic opportunity to take part in a film-poems project

24-hour Filmmaking Competition

The Edinburgh Movie Production Society in partnership with Magma Poetry Magazine and The Festival of Creative Learning are offering a fantastic opportunity to take part in a film-poems project.

The concept is simple: Make a short film (or films) in the span of 24 hours in response to a poem selected by Magma.

Submitted films will be screened on 28th Feb, so bring along your friends!  Winners will receive small prizes (criteria announced at first event). Selected films may be screened at Magma Poetry Magazine launch in London.

Join as a team or an individual. Those looking for a team will be matched at the beginning of the competition. In order to be eligible to join the competition, please, sign up for the event. NOTE: Those outside of UoE please contact enquiries.emps@gmail.com

This project comprises of 3 events:
– Start of Competition (Compulsory) – Sat 24th Feb – 10:30-12:30 – LG.07, David Hume Tower
– End of Competition (Drop-in (Film submission and equipment return)) – Sun 25th Feb – 12:00-13:00 – LG.07, David Hume Tower
– Screening & Winner Announcement (Compulsory) – Wed 28th Feb – 19:00-20:30 – Screening Room G.04, 50 George Square

NOTE: If you need a place to stay, LG.07 will be booked following the launch of the competition until 17:00.

Equipment will be provided by the Movie Production Society free of charge. You can browse the equipment and book it here: http://www.emps.fun/equipment (Equipment will be provided at the start of the competition and collected at the end of the competition). Note: Please let us know at least 2 days in advance for an equipment hire.
